Eddie Einbinder is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Harm Reduction Psychotherapist. Eddie has worked in many clinical, educational, and community settings over his clinical career, and he specializes in helping young adults who have problematic relationships with drugs and struggle with mental health challenges.
In his private practice, Eddie works with adults, families, and couples, and facilitates four weekly harm reduction psychotherapy groups. He offers both remote and in person sessions in midtown Manhattan. Eddie’s approach centers on accepting and understanding the meaning and motivation behind a client’s behavior, and collaborating with clients to identify realistic strategies for achieving their goals.
In addition to his private practice, Eddie is an internationally recognized educator in the field in harm reduction and drug use. His body of work over the last twenty years has been presented through lectures, books and documentary films, and his work is geared toward youth and young adults. Additionally, Eddie conducts consultation and supervision for mental health professionals who work with young adults.
Born and raised in New York City, his interests in mental health and harm reduction started during high school at Horace Mann. He studied Psychology and Business at Lehigh University and later obtained his Master’s degree in Social Work at New York University, focusing on clinical work with individuals with substance use disorders and their families.
Eddie serves on the Board of Directors of Non-profit organizations in the industry, such as Moderation Management and Bronx Movil. He has been an active supporter of the Drug Policy Alliance, Harm Reduction Coalition, and more local operations for over fifteen years.
