• group/service promotion
• Nonprofit volunteering, even just a lecture we attended with a paragraph write up regarding it
• Networking partners (professional write ups)

Are you wanting a booking system (and if so are people paying) or is this just event promotion, if the latter then I assume each event will have an associated link or two for booking… do you want these to all be sub catergories as well (I would seperate out blog posts as those aint events). If you want this by date I assume you also will need an event plugin (slight yearly expense) and for old events to not appear on the site (ie auto expire)
